The simple answer is yes.
It’s been done for thousands of years across many cultures. However, there are some people who it may not be suitable for or who may be at a higher risk for a contraindication or side effects to occur.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, on average we have about 70,000 thoughts per day. That’s normal. It’s what our brains are trained to do - think.
Meditation is a pattern interrupt. This simple and powerful practice creates the opportunity for our brains to slow down, focus on a specific object of attention - like our breath, a mantra, something in nature or a picture on the wall. It’s a pattern interrupt because most of the time our brains are in a very specific pattern - creating thought, after thought, after thought. Meditation allows us to interrupt that pattern.
